What is Carbon Monoxide?
Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a gas produced during combustion. It is toxic. It has no smell, no taste and no colour. Typical sources can include furnaces, fireplaces, wood stoves, gas stoves, vehicles, and cigarettes.
How do I prevent carbon monoxide poisoning?
Ensure working CO alarms are installed near bedrooms. CO alarms expire after 10 years. Have regular, annual maintenance completed on your furnace, fireplace, gas & oil-fired water heaters.
What are the effects of carbon monoxide Poisoning?
At low concentrations carbon monoxide poisoning can cause headaches, chest pain, dizziness and confusion. At higher concentrations it can cause loss of consciousness, coma and death.

A friendly reminder now that it’s the holiday season; please remember that all-season-tires or 4-wheel drive are no substitute for winter tires.
